The Education and Employment Program is dedicated to helping adults acquire the academic, employability, and life skills they need to achieve meaningful employment and economic self-sufficiency. The program offers adult education classes and operates an Employment Resource Center that assists people with their employment needs.

Adult Education
Unless noted otherwise,
all classes are offered Monday – Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to everyone over the age of 16 for free. Individual and small group tutoring is available throughout the week by appointment.
English as a Second Language Classes / Clases de Ingles Como Segunda Idioma.
Level 1: Beginning ESL
Level 2: High-Beginning ESL
Level 3: Intermediate ESL
Level 4: High Intermediate ESL (Monday & Wednesday 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)
Math and Reading Classes (for English speakers)
Level 1: Adult Basic Education
Level 2: Pre-GED Reading/Pre-GED Math
Level 3: GED Reading/GED Math
Level 3: GED Math/Reading (Tuesday and Thursday 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.)

Employment Services and Workshops
Walk-in computer lab for employment-related purposes: Monday-Friday, 1 – 4:30 p.m. & every other Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm
Walk-in Employment Resource Center: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Computer Classes: Monday-Thursday 9:00 am – 11:30 am & every
other Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm

Family Literacy
Open to adult education students who attend a class and their 3 month – 5 year old children.
Our staff assists parents to assume their role as first teachers of their children, helping mothers and fathers with children birth to five to:
- build their parenting skills
- increase their knowledge about child development
- learn how to interact positively with their young children
- develop strong, loving parent-child bonds

This program receives over $240,000 for adult education programming. Approximately 40% of this is federal funding. This program also receives funding from the Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Department of Community Development and the Secretary of State.
