The Education and Employment Program is dedicated to helping adults acquire the academic, employability, and life skills they need to achieve meaningful employment and economic self-sufficiency. The program offers a range of adult education classes and operates an Employment Resource Center that is equipped with computers that assist people with their employment needs. Adult Education
- Adult Basic Education (ABE) & GED Classes. Instruction for English-speaking adults on math, reading and writing to help in GED preparation or in reaching personal goals. Registration Dates: July 23 & 24, September 24 & 25, January 7 & 8, April 15 & 16.
- English as a Second Language (ESL). Provides immigrant and refugee adults with listening, speaking, reading and writing instruction in English. Registration Dates: July 21 & 22, September 22 & 23, January 5 & 6, April 13 & 14. ESL Flyer in English.
- Language Exchange. An hour-long conversation class consisting of a half-hour of English and a half-hour of Spanish immersion. English speakers are welcome.
- Tutoring. One-on-one and small-group. Tutoring must be scheduled by appointment and is subject to availability.

Family Literacy
Family Literacy assists mothers and fathers with children birth to five to build their parenting skills; increase their knowledge about child development; learn how to interact positively with their young children, and develop strong, loving parent-child bonds. Employment Resource Center
The Employment Resource Center provides walk-in job-search resources including newspapers, job listings, a copy and fax machine, a telephone, a state-of-the-art computer lab with Internet access, and computer skills workshops. Job couselors assist individuals with significant barriers to employment to achieve their goals. The center holds monthly employability skills workshops. Participants with a criminal background have access to additional resources tailored to their specific needs.

Program Highlights
- More than 400 adults increase their academic and/or English language skills every year.
- Over 3,000 individuals utilize the Employment Resource Center annually. Over 300 acquire basic computer skills, including the ability to use the Internet.
- Each year, at least 50 parents enrolled in family literacy acquire competencies that support the language development and literacy skills of their young children.
