The mission of the Howard Area Community Center is to assist low-income individuals and families in Rogers Park to stabilize their lives and to develop the social skills necessary to become effective community members. HACC Programs include:

Howard Area Leadership Academy: Provides a second chance for youth who dropped out of traditional public schools to earn a high school diploma.

Family Center Campus: Provides full-day care and early childhood education for children birth to five, family support and parent education.

Education and Employment: Assists adults to increase their reading and math skills, earn a GED, or become more proficient in English. Also, staff members help adults build work-related skills and secure and retain employment. 

Social Services: Provides emergency services, case management, and other support services to encourage self-sufficiency and personal responsibility. 

Youth Programs: Includes after-school academic enrichment, workshops on life and social skills, employment-related services, recreational activities, and a full-day summer camp.
