Social Services

The Social Services Program assists individuals and families to stabilize their lives and work toward self-sufficiency. It provides emergency services, case management, and other support services. Social Services are available to low - and moderate-income residents of Rogers Park. It has bi-lingual English/Spanish-speaking staff. The program offers the following services to qualified individuals:

Case management: We assist with public benefits, offer one-on-one counseling, and provide information and referrals to available resources, such as health care and housing options.

Food and Clothing: We provide emergency food from our on-site pantry and distribute donated clothing as needed. We also provide supplemental food packages on a monthly basis to pregnant and postpartum women, children aged 0 to 6 years, and seniors aged 60 and older.

Dental Clinic: We offer free or low-cost dental services to 1) HIV+ Ryan White-eligible individuals of Metropolitan Chicago and 2) regular, intensive HACC participants. Eligibility is limited and a referral is required.

Domestic Violence Services: We provide counseling, case management, education, and support groups in Spanish and English for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Childcare is provided. Brochure in English, Folleto en Español.

Energy Assistance: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) applications are taken September to Spring to help pay utility bills. We also provide information on other utility assistance programs.

Health: We provide pregnancy tests, prenatal classes, HIV/STD tests, blood pressure screenings, health fairs, access to free clinics, and prescription drug assistance. Also we help with applications for free or low cost health insurance for kids through the All Kids program.

HIV/AIDS Services: We provide comprehensive case management services for individuals with HIV/AIDS. We also provide prevention education, counseling, and dental services for this population.

Legal Clinic: Free legal aid is available through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. We accept family or consumer cases like wills, divorce or child custody.
